What is Split test?
A split test is the ad platform's formal experiment tool, which divides your audience into groups that never overlap and shows each group one version of your setup. The distinction from an informal comparison is the non-overlap. If you just run two ad sets side by side, the same person can be shown both, budgets drift towards the early leader, and the result is contaminated. A split test locks the budgets equal and keeps the groups separate. It is built for structural questions rather than artwork: which audience, which placement, which optimisation event, which budget strategy — the settings you cannot fairly compare any other way.
What does Split test mean for a business in Pakistan?
Geography is the question worth split testing in the twin cities, because the answer genuinely changes the economics. A tight radius around one branch, Rawalpindi city-wide and both cities together behave like three different businesses, and intuition is usually wrong about which wins. Run it once properly, then let the winner take the budget for the rest of the quarter.
A worked example
A DHA Phase 1 Rawalpindi car detailing studio splits PKR 24,000 evenly across three non-overlapping audiences for ten days. A 15 km radius returns bookings at PKR 410 each; Rawalpindi-wide at PKR 630; both cities at PKR 880. The radius audience takes the whole budget the following month.
