What is A/B test?
An A/B test compares two versions of something that differ in exactly one element, so that any difference in results can be blamed on that element. Change the hook and the thumbnail and the caption all at once and you have learned nothing, because you cannot say which one moved the number. Three rules make the answer trustworthy. Test one variable. Give both versions the same audience and the same conditions. Let it run until enough people have seen each version that the gap is bigger than daily noise — a few thousand impressions per side at minimum, not thirty clicks on a Tuesday morning.
What does A/B test mean for a business in Pakistan?
Budgets here are small, so a paid test needs a full week and a meaningful sum before the result means anything — splitting PKR 3,000 over two days tells you about the weather, not the ad. YouTube's built-in thumbnail comparison is the exception worth using constantly, because it costs nothing and runs on traffic you were getting anyway. Test hooks and thumbnails, not fonts.
A worked example
A twin-city food channel tests two thumbnails on one video. Thumbnail A, a close-up of the dish, gets 3.8 percent click-through. Thumbnail B, the chef's shocked face with 'PKR 400?' on it, gets 6.1 percent across 40,000 impressions. B wins, worth roughly 900 extra views in week one at no cost.

Understanding the terms is useful. Doing the work every day is the hard part — and that is what we do, from PKR 15,000 a month.
