What is Core update?
A core update is a broad change Google makes to its main ranking systems, typically several times a year, announced on its Search Status Dashboard and rolled out over a couple of weeks. Unlike targeted updates aimed at spam or reviews, a core update reassesses how well pages answer searches overall. Rankings shift up and down across the web. Google's guidance is consistent: a drop does not mean a page broke a rule, and there is no technical fix; it means other pages were judged more helpful, and the response is to improve the content.
