What is Browse features?

Browse features is YouTube's name for the traffic that comes from its own home page, the subscriptions feed and other lists a viewer scrolls rather than searches. Analytics groups them all under one label. Traffic from browse means YouTube decided on its own to put your thumbnail in front of someone who was not looking for anything in particular, which makes it the hardest traffic to earn and the most valuable to hold. It is also the most fragile: browse impressions can multiply overnight when a video performs and collapse just as fast when it does not. Because home-page viewers are undecided, CTR from browse is normally lower than CTR from search.

What does Browse features mean for a business in Pakistan?

Watch the clock with this one. Browse traffic in Pakistan peaks after Isha, roughly 9pm to midnight PKT, when people are on wifi at home rather than mobile data. Publishing an hour or two before that window gives YouTube time to test the video while the audience is arriving. In Ramadan the same peak shifts to sehri hours and the late-night one shrinks.

A worked example

An Islamabad fitness channel publishes at 7:30pm PKT. Within four hours the video collects 31,000 browse impressions and 1,900 clicks, a 6.1 percent CTR. An identical video posted at 11am the following week gets 4,400 browse impressions in the same window.

These come up in the same conversations and are worth reading together.
