What is Subscriber?
A subscriber is someone who has asked YouTube to keep them informed about your channel. That is all it guarantees. Subscribing puts your uploads into their Subscriptions tab and makes them more likely to be shown your video on the home page, but YouTube does not push every video to every subscriber, and it never has. Subscribers matter as a signal — the platform reads a subscribe as strong evidence the video was worth more than a view — and as a threshold, since 1,000 is required for the Partner Program. But an active thousand who watch each week are worth more than an inactive fifty thousand collected from one viral Short.
