What is Bookmark?
Bookmark is the general name for the action of filing a post away privately for later, and different apps label the same behaviour differently. Instagram calls it saving and lets you sort saves into named collections. TikTok calls it favourites and puts them behind a tab on your own profile. X calls them bookmarks outright, and LinkedIn calls it saving a post. The important thing for a creator is that this is a private, low-friction action with no social cost — nobody sees that you did it — which makes it a much purer signal of genuine interest than a like, since likes are partly social performance.
What does Bookmark mean for a business in Pakistan?
Worth knowing because Pakistani audiences often will not like a post publicly while happily bookmarking it. Anything to do with money, health, legal trouble, weight loss or matrimonial topics gets bookmarked far more than it gets liked, because people do not want the interaction showing to their contacts.
