Subscriber Growth Projector: When Will You Hit 1,000?

Enter what you have now and what you gain in a normal month, and this projects when you cross 500, 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 subscribers. It also lets you model getting slightly better each month, which is what growth actually looks like rather than a flat line.

Work it out

Your numbers

Straight from YouTube Studio. Use the real number, not the one you round up to in conversation.

Last 28 days, unless that month had a fluke video. In that case use the month before.

Each month you gain this much more than the last, as you get better and the back catalogue keeps working. Set to 0 for a flat projection.

Result

Months to 500 subscribers
5months

The lower monetisation tier where YouTube opens fan funding in eligible countries.

Months to 1,000 subscribers
11months

The main Partner Programme gate. You also need the watch time — see the watch hours calculator.

Months to 10,000 subscribers
46months

Roughly where Pakistani brands start replying to your emails instead of ignoring them.

Months to 100,000 subscribers
91months

Silver play button territory. At small starting numbers this figure is a fantasy and should be read as one.

Subscribers in 12 months
1,190subscribers

Where this pace puts you a year from now.

Subscribers in 24 months
2,899subscribers

Two years, same pace. Useful for seeing how much the improvement percentage actually compounds.

How this is calculated

Step month by month from month 1 to month 120. Gain in month m = newSubsThisMonth × (1 + improvementPercent ÷ 100) raised to the power (m − 1), rounded down to a whole subscriber. Total after month m = currentSubs + the sum of all gains up to and including month m. monthsTo500, monthsTo1000, monthsTo10000 and monthsTo100000 are each found the same way against their milestone of 500, 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 subscribers: if currentSubs already meets or exceeds that milestone, report 0 ("already there"); otherwise report the first month m where the total reaches or passes it; if no month up to 120 reaches it, report "more than 10 years at this pace". subsIn12Months is the total after month 12; subsIn24Months is the total after month 24.

Things to keep in mind

  • Subscriber growth is not smooth. One video that lands can add more in a week than the previous six months, and this projection cannot predict that — it tells you what the current pace does if nothing changes.
  • The default 5% monthly improvement is optimistic but achievable while a channel is small and you are genuinely learning. It stops being realistic above roughly 50,000 subscribers, where growth usually flattens unless the format changes.
  • Subscribers alone do not monetise a channel. The Partner Programme also wants 4,000 public watch hours in twelve months, or 10 million Shorts views in ninety days.
  • Bought subscribers move this number and nothing else. They damage your reach afterwards, so a projection built on them describes a channel getting worse.

About this calculator

How long does it really take to get 1,000 subscribers in Pakistan?

For a channel posting consistently in a clear niche, six to twelve months is the honest range. Channels that post whenever they feel like it usually take two years or never arrive. The variable is not talent, it is whether video number thirty exists.

Is it faster to get subscribers from Shorts?

Faster, yes — and lower quality. Shorts can add subscribers in the thousands from one clip, but many of them never watch a long-form video, so watch hours stay flat and you sit at 5,000 subscribers still unmonetised. Use Shorts to be found, long-form to be followed.

What is the 500-subscriber tier?

YouTube opened a lower monetisation tier at 500 subscribers, with 3,000 watch hours in twelve months or 3 million Shorts views in ninety days, giving access to fan funding features rather than full ad revenue. Availability is country by country, so check the eligibility card in your own YouTube Studio before planning around it.

Why does a 5% monthly improvement change the answer so much?

Because it compounds. Sixty new subscribers a month flat reaches 1,000 in about thirteen months; the same start improving 5% a month gets there in about ten, and the gap widens every month after. Small, boring improvements to titles and thumbnails are what that percentage actually is.
