Posting Schedule Planner: How Many Posts Can You Actually Manage?

Tell it which platform you are on and how many hours a week you genuinely have, and it works out how many posts that buys you — then says whether that cadence is enough to stay visible. Most people plan a schedule they cannot keep and quit in week three.

Work it out

Your numbers

Pick the format you actually publish. The time cost of one YouTube long-form is five to six Reels.

Be honest. Count only the hours you would still have after a bad week at work.

Multiplies the time each post takes. Everyone overestimates this in month one.

If someone else cuts your footage, your own time per post drops sharply and the plan changes completely.

Result

Time per post for you
50minutes

Filming, editing, caption, upload — adjusted for your speed and who edits.

Posts per week you can sustain
7posts

What your hours honestly buy. Not what you would like to do.

Posts per month
30posts

Roughly 4.3 weeks per month, so the figure is not just the weekly number times four.

Is that enough?
Consistent — this is a schedule you can hold

Measured against the minimum cadence that keeps an account visible on this platform.

Hours needed to hit the minimum
3.3hours per week

If you are short, this is the gap — in hours, which is the currency that actually matters.

How this is calculated

Base minutes per post by platform: 1 = 240, 2 = 45, 3 = 35, 4 = 50, 5 = 15, 6 = 25. minutesPerPost = base × (speedFactor ÷ 100) × (1 − editingDone ÷ 100), rounded to the nearest whole minute. postsPerWeek = floor((hoursPerWeek × 60) ÷ minutesPerPost). postsPerMonth = round(postsPerWeek × 4.3). Minimum weekly cadence by platform: 1 = 1, 2 = 5, 3 = 5, 4 = 4, 5 = 3, 6 = 3. cadenceVerdict: if postsPerWeek is 0, "Not enough time for even one post — batch fortnightly instead"; if below the minimum, "Below the cadence that keeps you visible on this platform"; if at or above the minimum but below twice it, "Consistent — this is a schedule you can hold"; if twice the minimum or more, "Strong — you have room to raise quality instead of quantity". hoursNeededForMinimum = (minimum × minutesPerPost) ÷ 60, to one decimal place.

Things to keep in mind

  • The minutes per post are our own averages from editing for clients, for a creator working alone with a phone and a laptop. A studio shoot with a second camera is a different job entirely.
  • Minimum cadences are what we see holding reach on these platforms, not published rules. YouTube long-form rewards one good video a week far more than three rushed ones; Shorts and TikTok punish gaps much harder.
  • The plan assumes those hours are usable. Two hours split into six ten-minute gaps is not two hours — editing has a warm-up cost every time you reopen the timeline.
  • Load-shedding and a slow upload are not in the model. If you are uploading 4K over a home connection in the evening, add a few minutes a post and plan uploads for the morning.

About this calculator

How many hours a week does one YouTube video really take?

About four hours for an 8–12 minute video if you are comfortable with your editor — scripting, filming, cutting, thumbnail, title and upload together. New editors should assume six. That is why so many Pakistani channels post twice and stop: the maths was never going to work alongside a job.

Is it better to post daily on one platform or weekly on three?

Daily on one, every time. Each platform learns who to show you to from a steady stream of signals, and three starved accounts give three algorithms nothing to work with. Pick where your buyers already are, hold cadence for ninety days, then add the second platform.

What happens to my schedule if I hand the editing over?

Roughly sixty percent of the work leaves you, and the calculator shows it. A creator with six hours a week goes from about seven Reels to seventeen, because filming and approving is fast and cutting is what eats the evening. That is exactly what our Starter package at PKR 15,000 covers.
