How do I write product descriptions that rank on Google?

The most common mistake in Pakistani online stores is pasting the supplier's or manufacturer's description. The same text then appears on Daraz, on competing stores and on the supplier's own site, and Google has no reason to show yours. Writing your own description is the single change that most often helps product pages. It does not need to be long; it needs to be specific and useful.

A good structure works for most products. Open with one or two sentences naming the product clearly, using the words a shopper would search: 'Three-piece unstitched lawn suit with printed chiffon dupatta', not 'Elegant summer collection item 4417'. Then cover the facts buyers need before ordering: measurements or size chart, fabric or material, colour accuracy notes, what is included, care instructions, and delivery time and charges within Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the rest of the country. The questions customers keep asking on WhatsApp are the best guide to what is missing. Add a short note on who it suits or how it is used, and include Roman Urdu terms where shoppers really use them, written naturally.

Then support the text. Use your own photos, including close-ups and a scale reference, with descriptive file names and alt text. Show genuine reviews on the page, which add fresh words in customers' own language. Mark the product up with schema for price, availability and reviews so Google can show those details. Prioritise effort: write full descriptions for products that sell most or carry the best margin first, and for the rest at least replace the supplier text with a few accurate lines. Keep each product's title, description and URL distinct from its variants, so they do not compete with each other.
