Does selling on Daraz hurt my own online store's SEO?
Not by itself, but copying the same titles, descriptions and photos onto Daraz and your own site can. Google may then show the Daraz listing instead of your store, even for your brand. Keep selling on Daraz if it works, but give your own site original descriptions, extra detail and reasons to buy direct.
The longer answer
Many twin-city sellers use Daraz for reach and their own store for repeat buyers and margins. The two can coexist. The trouble starts when the same content appears on both. When Google finds near-identical product text on a large marketplace and on a small new store, it usually chooses to show one version, and the marketplace often wins because it is a much stronger website. Your carefully written description then helps the Daraz listing rank rather than your store.
The fix is to differentiate. Keep Daraz listings concise and practical, and put your fullest, most original content on your own site: longer descriptions, size guides, care instructions, close-up photos, styling ideas, videos, and genuine reviews collected directly. Use different primary photos where possible. Make your own site the obvious place to find the full range, bundles, custom orders or items you do not list on the marketplace.
Branded searches deserve attention too. If people search your brand name and find your Daraz shop first, check that your own site has a clear homepage and about page using the brand name, a Google Business Profile if you have premises, and social profiles that link to your website. Over time, as your site earns links and visitors, it usually takes the top spot for your own name. Track where orders come from — organic search, Daraz, social, ads — so you can see whether the direct channel is growing. Do not try to game the marketplace's rules to push customers away from it; follow its policies, and let your own store compete through better content and service.
