What is the best way to send raw footage to a video editor?

WhatsApp compresses anything sent as a video, reducing resolution and adding blur that no edit can undo. Attaching the same file as a document sends it untouched. That works for short clips, but long recordings quickly hit WhatsApp's file-size limit and fail halfway, which is frustrating on a slow connection. For anything longer than a few minutes, a shared Google Drive folder is more reliable: upload over Wi-Fi, let it finish, then share the folder link once rather than individual files.

Organisation saves more time than you would expect. Put each video's clips in its own folder, keep the camera's original file names or number them in the order you recorded, and delete obvious false starts only if you are sure. Add the extras the editor will need: close-up shots of the product or place, a logo file, any screen recordings, and ten seconds of silent room sound so background hum can be removed. If you recorded audio on a separate microphone, include that file too.

Then tell the editor what the video is. A two-minute voice note covering the title, who it is for, the best moment and anything that must be cut, such as a phone number said aloud or a relative who did not want to appear, prevents most revision rounds. Load-shedding and slow uploads are real, so schedule big uploads overnight and check the Drive folder shows every file at full size before you tell the editor it is ready.
