How to batch a month of content in one day
Script everything the week before, then film in blocks by outfit and location rather than by topic. Six hours with a written shot list produces sixteen to twenty short videos comfortably — enough for a month at four a week. The planning is the work; the filming day is just execution.

The longer answer
Batching fails when people arrive with an idea instead of a list. Do the writing days earlier: twenty topics, each with a first line written out word for word and three bullet points. The first line is non-negotiable, because deciding your hook on camera is what turns a six-hour day into a ten-hour one. Print the list or put it on a second phone propped next to the camera.
Then group by what is expensive to change, not by subject. All the videos in the blue kameez together. All the ones in the shop together, all the ones in the office together. Every clip that needs the same light setup together. Changing your shirt costs ten minutes; changing the topic costs nothing. A typical day for us runs: set up and test, film the talking pieces, break for lunch and a change, film the b-roll and hands-on clips, then the quick extras.
Protect the day like a clinic appointment. Phone on silent, someone else on the shop counter, no walk-ins. Keep water and a snack within reach because your voice goes flat after two hours of talking. Charge two power banks the night before and check whether your area's load-shedding slot falls in the middle of your window — if it does, film around it rather than losing your lights halfway through a take.
Dump everything into one shared Drive or WhatsApp folder at the end of the day and label the clips by number matching your list. That folder is a month of posting. On our side, one batch day feeds a full Starter or Growth month: we cut, caption, design the covers, write the SEO and schedule it out so you do not touch it again until the next batch.
The numbers
| Time | Block | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 10:00 – 10:45 | Set up, light test, sound check, one throwaway take | Nothing — this is warm-up |
| 10:45 – 13:00 | Talking pieces, outfit one | 8–10 short videos |
| 13:00 – 14:00 | Lunch, outfit change, review footage | — |
| 14:00 – 15:30 | Talking pieces, outfit two | 6–8 short videos |
| 15:30 – 16:30 | B-roll: hands, product, shop, street | 30–40 cutaway clips |
| 16:30 – 17:00 | Stills for carousels and thumbnails | 15–20 photos |
Assumes scripts were written before the day. Without them, expect roughly half the output.
