What is the best time of day to film a video at my shop or restaurant?

Light comes first. Soft daylight through a window or open shopfront flatters faces, food and products more than overhead tube lights, which can flicker on camera and turn skin green. Mid-morning usually gives the most even light indoors; harsh midday sun outside creates hard shadows, and the hour before sunset is lovely for exteriors but short. In winter, Islamabad mornings can be grey and foggy, so leave room to reschedule an outdoor shot.

Then think about people and noise. Before opening, nobody needs to be asked to move and staff can focus. During the lunch rush at a restaurant in Blue Area or the evening crowd in a Saddar market, you will capture atmosphere but struggle to record clean speech. Generators, air conditioners and traffic on busy roads are loud on a microphone, so record talking parts when they can be switched off or when the road is quieter, and keep Friday afternoons free.

Restaurants and bakeries have their own timing. Film dishes as they come off the tandoor or out of the oven, when steam and colour are at their best, which may mean timing the shoot around a real preparation rather than a staged one. Summer heat and monsoon rain affect outdoor seating and street shots, so plan seasonal content early.
