What is Zero-click search?
A zero-click search is one where the person gets what they need on the results page itself and never clicks through to a website. The answer might come from an AI Overview, a featured snippet, a knowledge panel, a weather or currency box, or a business's phone number in the map pack. Zero-click results have grown as Google answers more questions directly. For a business it changes what success looks like: being the source quoted, or the business whose call button was tapped from the map, can matter as much as a website visit.
What does Zero-click search mean for a business in Pakistan?
For local trades in the twin cities, zero-click often means a phone call. Someone searches tyre shop near me in I-10, sees the map pack and taps call. No website visit is recorded anywhere. The Google Business Profile performance report shows those calls and direction requests, and they belong in any honest SEO report.
A worked example
An Islamabad pharmacy's website traffic falls slightly over six months, and the owner thinks SEO stopped working. Its Business Profile shows calls up from 90 to 140 a month and direction requests up as well. People are getting the phone number and opening hours without visiting the site. The customers still arrived; the click simply moved.
