What is SERP?
SERP stands for search engine results page, the whole screen Google shows after someone presses enter. It used to be ten blue links. Today the same screen can hold ads at the top, a map with three businesses, an AI Overview, a People Also Ask box, videos, images and shopping cards, with the ordinary organic results pushed further down. When an SEO person talks about where you rank, the useful question is where on that crowded screen you actually appear, because position three under a map, two ads and an AI answer can sit well below the fold on a phone.
