What is Title card?
A title card is a short on-screen graphic inside the video itself — usually within the first few seconds — that states what the video is or announces a section. It is not the thumbnail and not the YouTube title; it is a frame the viewer sees after pressing play. Used well it confirms in about one second that they landed in the right place, which stops the immediate bounce. Used badly it becomes a five-second animated logo that costs you the audience you just earned. For short-form, any card longer than roughly a second is a cost, not a feature.
What does Title card mean for a business in Pakistan?
Long animated intros are still common on Pakistani channels because they feel professional, and cutting them is the single easiest retention fix we make. Replacing a six-second logo sting with a one-second text card carrying the video's promise in Roman Urdu — something like Poora kharcha, sach sach — keeps people past the point where most drop off. On Reels and TikTok, cut it entirely and put the words over live footage.
A worked example
A channel's six-second animated intro sits at the front of every upload. The retention graph shows viewers falling from 100% to 62% before the content even starts. Swapping it for a one-second card over the opening shot moves that same point to 88% — a 26-point gain achieved purely by deleting five seconds.
