What is Search intent?
Search intent is what the person actually wants when they type a phrase — information, a specific site, a comparison, or to buy right now. Two searches with almost identical words can want opposite things: DSLR camera wants to browse, DSLR camera price in Pakistan wants a number on the screen within five seconds. Getting intent wrong is the most common reason a page with the right keyword still does not rank. Google already knows what kind of page satisfies that query, and if you send a sales page where people wanted an explanation, they leave and you slide.
What does Search intent mean for a business in Pakistan?
The fastest way to read intent here is to search the phrase yourself on a Pakistani connection and look at what already ranks. If page one is all price lists, your 500-word brand story will not break in. Pakistani buyers also front-load price intent — kitna hai, rate, charges — far earlier in the journey than Western keyword tools assume.
A worked example
Social media agency Islamabad returns agency pages and directories, so that page needs packages and a WhatsApp button visible without scrolling. How much does a social media manager charge in Pakistan returns articles and Q&A, so that page must open with a number: PKR 15,000 to PKR 70,000 a month. Same topic, two different pages, two different jobs.
