What is Responsive design?
Responsive design means building one website whose layout adapts to the screen it is viewed on, so the same page works on a small phone, a tablet and a wide desktop monitor. Columns stack on narrow screens, images resize, text stays readable without zooming, and buttons are big enough to tap. It replaced the older practice of running a separate mobile site. Because Google now indexes the mobile version of pages first, a site that only works properly on desktop is effectively judged on its weakest version, and mobile visitors leave before they see anything else.
What does Responsive design mean for a business in Pakistan?
Most visitors to a Pakistani business site arrive on a phone, often from a WhatsApp link or an Instagram bio. Yet many sites in the twin cities are still designed and approved on a laptop. The real test is opening the site on a mid-range Android phone over mobile data and trying to find the price and the WhatsApp button with one thumb.
A worked example
A Blue Area recruitment agency's site shows a four-column services grid that shrinks to unreadable text on phones, and the contact form's submit button sits under a floating chat icon. A responsive rebuild stacks the services one per row on mobile, enlarges the tap areas and moves the chat icon, so the form can actually be sent.
