What is Monetisation?
Monetisation is the general word for turning an audience into income, and it covers far more than platform ad revenue. The routes are: ads shared by the platform, direct payments from viewers such as memberships, super chats and gifts, brand sponsorships paid by a company, affiliate commission on things you recommend, and selling your own product or service. Platform ads are usually the slowest and smallest of these for a new account, and the last to arrive, because they require thresholds. The fastest is almost always the one nobody counts as monetisation — using content to sell what you already do, which needs no platform approval at all.
What does Monetisation mean for a business in Pakistan?
For most twin-cities clients the honest ranking is: your own service first, brand deals second, platform ads a distant third. A dentist in F-8 does not need a monetised channel; she needs eleven new patients a month at PKR 8,000 a treatment. That is PKR 88,000 from content that would earn perhaps a few thousand rupees in ad revenue at the same view count.
A worked example
An Islamabad interior designer's channel earns about PKR 9,000 a month in ad revenue from 140,000 views. The same channel brings in two full projects a year at PKR 1.8 million each. The ads are a rounding error; the enquiries are the business.
