What is Creator fund?
A creator fund is a pot of money a platform sets aside and pays out to eligible creators based on how their content performs, rather than by attaching specific ads to specific videos. TikTok, Snapchat and Meta have all run schemes of this shape at various times, under various names, in a limited list of countries. The defining features are that eligibility is by country and account size, that the rate per view is not fixed and moves as more creators join the pool, and that a fund can be closed or replaced without notice. That is the opposite of an ad-share programme like YouTube's, where earnings track the ads actually shown on your video.
What does Creator fund mean for a business in Pakistan?
This is the single most misunderstood money question we get asked in Islamabad. TikTok's creator payout programmes have not been open to Pakistan-based accounts, so a Pakistani TikToker with two million followers earns nothing from TikTok directly and everything from brand deals, their own shop, or moving that audience to YouTube. Check the eligible-country list inside the app before believing a YouTube video about TikTok earnings.
A worked example
A Rawalpindi comedy TikToker with 480,000 followers earns PKR 0 from the platform itself. The same person makes about PKR 120,000 a month from four brand collaborations at PKR 25,000 to PKR 40,000 each, all negotiated in the DMs.
