What is AdSense?
AdSense is Google's advertising and payments product, and it is the account YouTube pays your ad earnings into. Setting it up is a separate step from being accepted into the Partner Program: you link an AdSense account, submit tax information, and verify your address by entering a PIN that Google posts to you on a physical card. Earnings accumulate in the account and Google pays out once the balance crosses the published USD 100 threshold, on a monthly cycle. If the threshold is not met, the balance rolls over. One AdSense account can be linked to several YouTube channels but a person is only meant to hold one.
What does AdSense mean for a business in Pakistan?
Two things trip Pakistani creators up. The PIN letter is posted to your address and can take weeks or go missing, so use an address someone actually collects post from — a G-11 house is safer than a shared shop counter in Raja Bazaar. Second, payment comes by wire transfer to a bank account in your own name, so the name on your CNIC, your bank and your AdSense must match exactly.
A worked example
A Rawalpindi tech channel crosses USD 100 in March and is paid on the following month's cycle. The transfer of USD 118 lands in a local bank account as roughly PKR 33,000 after the bank's conversion, with no payout in the two months it sat below the threshold.
