What is Bid?
A bid is the most the platform is allowed to pay on your behalf to win one result in the auction that decides which ad a person sees. Every impression is auctioned in a fraction of a second, and the winner is not simply the highest bidder — the system multiplies your bid by how likely it thinks that person is to do what you want and by how good the ad looks to them. That is why a well-made ad wins impressions from a bigger spender. Most accounts should use the automatic strategy, which chases the most results your budget can buy. Manual caps and cost goals hand you control at the price of volume.
What does Bid mean for a business in Pakistan?
Bid caps hurt more here than in big markets because local audiences are small. If you are targeting women 25–40 inside an 8 km circle around F-10, there may only be a few hundred thousand eligible people, and a tight cost cap tells the system to skip most of them. In a small pool, a cap that looks disciplined on day one usually means no delivery at all by day five.
A worked example
A Blue Area IELTS academy sets a cost-per-result goal of PKR 250 a lead. Week one: 42 leads at PKR 236 average. Week two: 3 leads, because the cheap pockets of the audience are used up and the cap blocks the rest. Removing the goal restores volume at PKR 310 a lead — more expensive per lead, far more leads.
