Content Batching Calculator: How Many Posts in One Session?
Plan a single filming session properly. Put in how many hours you have blocked out and this works out how many pieces you can realistically shoot, how many weeks of posting that covers, and what those hours cost you in your own time compared with handing the editing over.
Work it out
How this is calculated
minutesPerPiece = scriptMinutesPerPiece + filmMinutesPerPiece + editMinutesPerPiece. usableMinutes = (batchHours × 60) − setupMinutes. piecesPerBatch = floor(usableMinutes ÷ minutesPerPiece), never below 0. minutesLeftOver = usableMinutes − (piecesPerBatch × minutesPerPiece). weeksCovered = piecesPerBatch ÷ postsPerWeek, to one decimal place. timeCostPkr = batchHours × hourlyValuePkr, rounded to the nearest 100. costPerPiecePkr = timeCostPkr ÷ piecesPerBatch, rounded to the nearest 100; if piecesPerBatch is 0, show "this session is too short to finish anything".
Things to keep in mind
- Batching works because setup happens once. The same six hours split across six evenings loses roughly four hours to setting up and putting away, which is why the calculator takes setup off the top only once.
- Energy is the limit nobody models. Most people are visibly worse on camera after about four hours, so if the tool says twelve pieces, plan ten and keep the last two ideas for next time.
- The time cost is a real cost even though no money moves. A clinic owner spending six hours editing has spent six hours of clinic time, and that comparison is the honest reason most of our clients hand the editing over.
- Outfit changes are not in the model. If you want the posts to look like they were made on different days, add ten minutes per change and shoot in blocks by outfit.
About this calculator
How many Reels can I film in one day?
Twelve to twenty if you are only filming and someone else edits, and six to eight if you edit them yourself in the same session. The gap is entirely the editing, which is why batching filming and batching editing on separate days works better than trying to finish each piece end to end.
Should I batch a whole month at once?
A fortnight is usually the sweet spot. A month of content filmed in one session starts to feel dated by week three — you cannot react to a trend, a price change or the weather — and if the batch is lost or the angle was wrong, you lose a month instead of two weeks.
Is my own time really a cost if I am not paying anyone?
Yes, and this is the calculation most business owners avoid doing. If your hour is worth PKR 4,000 and a batch takes six hours to produce eight posts, those posts cost you PKR 3,000 each in time — double what it costs to have them edited properly while you do the work that pays.
