Which Facebook groups should a business in Rawalpindi or Islamabad join?
Join the groups where your actual buyers ask for recommendations: sector and housing-society community groups, local buy-and-sell groups, parent and school groups, women-only shopping groups, and trade groups for your field. Check each group's rules on promotion first. A handful of active, relevant groups beats fifty where nobody near you posts.
The longer answer
Facebook groups in the twin cities are organised mostly by place and by interest. Place-based groups cover sectors, housing societies and neighbourhoods — residents of a Bahria Town phase, a DHA sector, a G-series sector, or a Rawalpindi area like Chaklala or Westridge — where people ask for a plumber, a tutor, a good bakery or a reliable clinic. Interest-based groups cover shopping, food, parenting, weddings, fitness, students and specific trades. The right mix depends on who buys from you: a home bakery wants society and food groups; a tutor wants parent groups; a wedding planner wants bridal and event groups.
Before posting anything, read the group rules and watch for a week. Many community groups ban direct promotion entirely, allow it only on specific days, or allow businesses to reply to recommendation requests but not to advertise. Breaking those rules gets you removed and makes members wary of your name. What works almost everywhere is being genuinely useful: answering questions in your field, recommending others when they are a better fit, and replying as your page, where groups allow it, so people can click through to your reviews.
Track which groups actually send enquiries. Ask new customers how they found you, and note when a message arrives shortly after a group answer. Over a couple of months you will see that a few groups produce almost all the value, and you can drop the rest. Never use fake accounts to recommend yourself; locals often know each other, and being caught does lasting damage. When we manage Facebook for a client, we prepare a short list of relevant groups with each one's rules, and the owner or staff join where groups admit only residents.
