Is WordPress bad for SEO?

Google does not prefer one platform over another. It reads the HTML your site sends, and a well-built WordPress site sends clean HTML with proper titles, headings and links. The reason WordPress gets a bad name in Islamabad and Rawalpindi is the typical way it is delivered: a premium multipurpose theme with sliders and animations, a page builder that wraps every paragraph in layers of extra code, twenty plugins installed for features nobody uses, and the cheapest hosting plan the developer could find. The result is a slow, bloated site that struggles on mobile data.

Security is the other weak point. Pirated, or 'nulled', versions of paid themes and plugins are widely shared, and some contain hidden code that injects spam links or redirects visitors. When a site is hacked this way, Google may label it in results and its rankings can collapse. Out-of-date plugins are a similar risk. A WordPress site needs updates applied regularly and backups kept, which is a maintenance habit rather than a technical mystery.

So the honest comparison is between well-built and badly built sites, not between platforms. A hand-coded or modern framework site can be faster and simpler to keep secure, which is why we often build new sites that way, but rebuilding a working WordPress site just for SEO is rarely worth the cost. Usually the better investment is to fix what is there: replace the heavy theme or builder sections, remove unused plugins, compress images, move to better hosting, install one SEO plugin and configure it properly, and make sure every page Google should see is indexable. If a site is so tangled that fixing costs more than rebuilding, a developer should say so after looking at it, not before.
