How do I write a YouTube description that helps the video get found?
Put the answer to "what is this video about" in the first two lines, using the phrase people search for, because those lines show in search results and above the fold. Follow with a short summary, chapter timestamps, links that matter and a few hashtags. Write it for a viewer first; YouTube reads it too.
The longer answer
The opening of a description does two jobs. On mobile, only the first line or so is visible before the viewer taps to expand, and in search results a snippet of it appears under the title. So the first sentence should restate the topic in plain words and include the main search phrase once: "How to apply for a CNIC renewal online from Islamabad, step by step, including the documents NADRA asks for." Avoid starting with links, social handles or "Assalam o Alaikum friends", which waste the most valuable space.
After the opening, two or three short paragraphs summarising what the video covers help both viewers and YouTube. This is also the natural place for spelling variants: if your title uses "kaise", the summary can use "kese" once without forcing it. Then add chapter timestamps, which make the video easier to navigate and can show as key moments in Google search. Links come next, kept to the ones a viewer would actually click, such as the product, the booking page or the related video.
Hashtags belong at the end, and only a few. YouTube may display some of them near the title, and stuffing dozens can get all of them ignored. Leave out long keyword lists, copied tag blocks and a paragraph of unrelated phrases; YouTube's spam policies cover misleading metadata, and viewers scrolling down see it too.
A template saves time for the fixed parts, such as your WhatsApp link and channel blurb at the bottom, but the top half should be written fresh for every video.
