How do I make a customer testimonial video that does not look fake?

Start with who to ask. The best people are regular customers who already recommend you to relatives and who you know would say the same thing off camera. Ask in person or on WhatsApp, explain how the video will be used, and accept a no gracefully. Avoid asking at the moment of purchase, when people feel obliged; a follow-up visit or a few weeks after the job works better.

Interview rather than script. Open questions bring out real detail: 'What were you worried about before you came?', 'What happened on the day?', 'What would you tell a friend in the same situation?'. Let them answer in whichever language they are comfortable in, and caption it. Film them somewhere connected to the service, such as the car they bought from your showroom on GT Road or the classroom where their child studies, rather than against a blank wall.

Edit honestly. Shorten the answers, but do not stitch phrases together to make someone say something they did not mean, and do not add claims about results they never mentioned. If a customer received a discount or gift for taking part, say so. Get their consent recorded, and take the video down if they ask later. We never script testimonials or hire people to play customers, because that is invented proof, and viewers in the twin cities usually spot it anyway.
