How to handle a negative comment
Reply once, publicly, calmly, and then take it to DM. Deleting an honest complaint is what turns one annoyed customer into a screenshot doing the rounds. Hide only abuse, personal information or communal baiting, and never argue in public — everyone reading is judging you, not them.

The longer answer
Separate the three kinds first, because they need different handling. A genuine complaint — late delivery, wrong size, rude staff — is a customer you can still keep. A troll wants a reaction and gets bored without one. Abuse, phone numbers posted in public, and sectarian or political baiting are moderation problems, not conversations, and should be hidden or reported straight away.
For a genuine complaint, reply in public within a few hours with three things: acknowledgement, a fact, and a way forward. "Aap sahi keh rahe hain, delivery do din late hui. Order number DM kar dein, main aaj hi check karwata hoon." No excuses about traffic, no blaming the courier, no defensiveness. Everyone else reading that thread is deciding whether you are the kind of business that fixes things, and a well-handled complaint sells better than a wall of five-star praise.
Then finish it privately and come back. Sort the issue in DM or on WhatsApp, and if it gets resolved, a short public follow-up on the same thread closes the loop for future readers. Screenshot the exchange for your own record before anything gets deleted by the other person.
Know the tools. On Instagram you can hide a comment so only the author sees it — useful when deleting would provoke. On YouTube you can hide a user from your channel permanently, which is the right answer for someone who returns to every video. On both platforms, set up a filtered word list for the abuse you get repeatedly; it saves you from reading it at all. And keep one rule absolute: never reply while angry, and never at 1 am. Write it, save it as a draft, send it in the morning.
