How do I get customers to opt in to my WhatsApp messages?

Ask at the moments customers already trust you: at the counter, on the receipt, in the delivery bag and after a good chat. Offer something specific, such as new-stock alerts or appointment reminders, and ask them to save your number. A shop in Islamabad or Rawalpindi grows a clean list this way without buying numbers or adding strangers.

Customers se WhatsApp updates ki ijazat kaise lein?

The longer answer

Opt-in on WhatsApp means the person agreed to receive messages from your business and knows what kind. WhatsApp's business policy requires it, and the app enforces it in its own way: broadcasts only reach people who saved your number. So the job is not to collect as many numbers as possible but to get the right people to save yours and say yes.

Use the places where customers already deal with you. A small card at the till in Jinnah Super or Commercial Market saying 'Save this number for new arrivals and Eid timings' with a QR code that opens a prefilled chat. A line on printed receipts and delivery slips. A sticker in delivery bags. A link in your Instagram bio and Google Business Profile that opens WhatsApp with 'Please add me to updates' already typed. When the customer sends that message, you have a clear record of consent.

Be specific about what they get and how often. 'Two messages a month: new stock and sale dates' is easier to agree to than 'offers'. Respect it afterwards. Label opted-in contacts so you know who agreed, and when someone says stop, remove them from every list the same day. That habit protects the number more than any tool.

What not to do: buy number lists, add people to groups without asking, copy numbers from society groups, or message every contact in your phone because they once called. These are the fastest routes to reports and a restricted number, and they fill your list with people who will never buy.
