My WhatsApp Business number got banned. What do I do now?

First work out which situation you are in. A temporary restriction stops you from starting new chats or sending to people for a period, but existing chats still work; the app shows a countdown or a notice. A ban logs the number out and says it is no longer allowed to use WhatsApp. For a restriction, the fix is to wait it out and change what caused it. For a ban, open WhatsApp, follow the prompt to request a review, and write a short, factual explanation: what the business is, that customers message you first, and that you will stop whatever triggered the reports.

The usual causes are predictable. Messaging numbers bought from a list or scraped from groups, adding people to groups without asking, sending the same promotional text to large numbers of people who never replied, using unofficial 'WhatsApp sender' or modified apps, and selling items WhatsApp's commerce policy forbids. If any of these apply, say so in the review and stop; pretending otherwise rarely helps.

While you wait, protect the business. Put a different contact route on your Google Business Profile, Instagram bio and shop counter, even if it is a landline or a second number. Do not register a new number and repeat the same behaviour from it, because WhatsApp links devices and patterns, and a second ban follows faster.

Afterwards, rebuild the habits that keep a number safe: grow your list from people who chose to message you, send broadcasts only to saved contacts, keep promotional messages occasional, and back up your chats. If you were sending at a volume the app was never built for, that is the moment to consider the API, where messaging limits and quality ratings are visible instead of guessed.
