How do I check if Google has indexed my website?

The fastest rough check needs no account. Type site: followed by your domain into Google, with no space, and look at what comes back. If nothing appears, Google has not indexed the site at all, which on a new site may just mean it has not been found yet, and on an older site usually means something is blocking it. If some pages appear and others do not, that is a clue, but the site: count is an estimate and should not be used to measure progress.

For a real answer, add the site to Google Search Console and verify ownership, ideally through a DNS record so it covers every version of the domain. The page indexing report then shows how many URLs are indexed and groups the rest by reason: excluded by a noindex tag, blocked by robots.txt, redirected, duplicate without a chosen canonical, crawled but not indexed, and others. Clicking a reason lists example URLs. The URL Inspection tool goes further for one page, showing whether it is on Google, when it was last crawled, which canonical Google picked and how it rendered the page.

When important pages are missing, work through the usual suspects in order. Check the page for a noindex meta tag, which developers often leave on after building a site on a staging server. Check robots.txt for a line that blocks the whole site. Confirm the page is linked from other pages, not just reachable by typing the address. Make sure the page returns a normal response rather than an error or redirect. Then submit an XML sitemap so Google has a full list. A brand-new site in Islamabad with few links pointing at it can take a few weeks to be fully indexed even when everything is correct.
