What is Seller rating?

On Daraz and similar marketplaces, the seller rating is the public score that shows how a store has treated its buyers, built from customer feedback on orders. Store pages typically display it alongside operational measures such as how often orders ship on time and how quickly the seller answers chat messages. It is separate from product ratings, which judge the item itself. Shoppers glance at seller scores before trusting an unfamiliar store, and marketplaces use seller performance when deciding visibility and eligibility for campaigns. The rating is protected mostly by operations: accurate descriptions, packing well, shipping on time, and replying to chats quickly.

What does Seller rating mean for a business in Pakistan?

Many negative seller reviews in Pakistan come from expectation gaps — colour different from the photo, size charts in the wrong standard, or a late dispatch around Eid. Clear photos in natural light and honest size notes in Urdu as well as English prevent much of this.

A worked example

Imagine a Daraz clothing seller whose rating dips after a sale because several orders shipped late. She limits stock in the next campaign to what her team can pack in a day, and replies to every negative review politely with what she changed. Over the following months the score recovers as new, on-time orders build up.

These come up in the same conversations and are worth reading together.
