What is Local ranking factors?
Local ranking factors are the things Google weighs when deciding which businesses to show on Maps and in the local pack. Google itself names three: relevance, meaning how well the profile matches the search; distance, meaning how far the business is from the searcher or the place named; and prominence, meaning how well known it is, judged from reviews, links, mentions and its website's own rankings. Distance is the one you cannot change, which is why a business can rank first on one street and vanish a few kilometres away. The other two are where the work goes.
What does Local ranking factors mean for a business in Pakistan?
Islamabad's sector grid makes distance very visible: a café that dominates F-7 may not show at all to someone searching from F-11. Owners often see their own ranking from their shop and assume everyone sees the same. A rank check from several points across the sectors gives the honest picture.
A worked example
A G-11 bakery checks Google from 25 points on a grid across nearby sectors. It ranks in the top three around G-11 and G-10, drops to around ninth in F-10 and is missing in I-8. Distance explains most of it. Better categories, more reviews mentioning cakes, and a stronger website page can push the edges outward.
