What is Lead qualification?
Lead qualification is the process of sorting enquiries into those worth a salesperson's time and those that are not, ideally as early and cheaply as possible. It asks a few deciding questions — can they afford it, are they in the service area, do they need it soon, are they the one deciding — either in the ad itself, in the form, in a chatbot, or in the first call. Qualifying too hard cuts volume and can scare off good buyers; qualifying too little floods the phone with people who were never going to buy. The useful measure is cost per qualified lead, not cost per lead, because that is the number that relates to sales.
What does Lead qualification mean for a business in Pakistan?
Twin-city service businesses often qualify on location without realising it matters: a cleaning company in Islamabad loses hours to enquiries from Wah or Taxila it cannot serve. Saying the service area plainly in the ad and asking the sector or society in the first message removes most of them.
A worked example
A hypothetical solar installer gets 100 leads for PKR 60,000, so PKR 600 a lead. Only 20 own their house and have a bill above the level where solar makes sense, so the cost per qualified lead is PKR 3,000. After adding 'Ghar apna hai?' to the form, leads fall to 50 but 25 qualify, at PKR 2,400 each.
