What is Broadcast list?

A broadcast list is a WhatsApp feature that sends one message to many contacts at once, with each recipient receiving it as a private one-to-one chat rather than in a group. Recipients cannot see each other, and their replies come back to you individually. The catch is that a broadcast only reaches people who have saved your number in their own phone contacts; everyone else silently receives nothing. That makes broadcast lists a tool for customers who already know you, not for cold outreach. Sending too often, or to people who did not ask, leads to blocks and reports, and enough of those can get a number restricted.

What does Broadcast list mean for a business in Pakistan?

Broadcasts are how many Pakistani shops announce new stock, Eid timings and sales. The 'saved contact' rule surprises owners, so asking customers to save the number — 'Number save karein taake offers milein' — is part of making broadcasts work.

A worked example
