What is AI Mode?
AI Mode is a separate, conversational search experience inside Google Search, opened from its own tab or button. Instead of a list of links, it gives a longer written answer built from many searches run in the background, and the user can ask follow-up questions in the same thread. It shows links to the sources it used, but fewer and less prominently than ordinary results. It is distinct from AI Overviews, which are short AI summaries shown at the top of a normal results page. Both draw on the same broad principles: clear, trustworthy, well-structured pages get used.
