What should I ask an agency before hiring them for TikTok?
Ask who films, who edits, how many videos you get each week, who writes the hooks, whether replies are included, what the monthly report shows, and whether ad spend is inside or outside the fee. Ask to see TikTok accounts they run for twin-city clients. Vague answers about "going viral" are a warning sign.
The longer answer
Start with the work itself. How many videos a week, and of what kind? Will they come to your shop to shoot, or will you film from a shoot list? Who writes the opening line of each video, and will they show you examples? Who owns the raw footage and the finished edits — you should, in a folder you control. How are captions handled: Urdu, Roman Urdu, English? What happens when a video breaks a guideline or gets restricted? A good agency answers these plainly; a weak one talks about trends and reach without saying who does what.
Then ask about results and reporting. What will the monthly report contain — views, average watch time, completion rate, follows, profile visits, link taps, messages — and will it explain what changes next month? Avoid anyone who promises a number of views, followers or viral videos. Nobody controls TikTok's distribution, and a promise like that often ends with bought views or fake followers, which damage the account. Ask too how they judge whether TikTok is right for you at all; an agency that never says "this platform is wrong for you" is selling, not advising.
Finally, the money. Is there a setup fee or a contract period? Is ad budget included or separate — it should be separate, paid to TikTok directly. What do you need to provide, and what happens if you stop? Ask for access to be given through TikTok's business tools rather than handing over your password where possible, and ask to see live accounts they run for businesses in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, not just a showreel.
