How much does website speed optimisation cost?

Speed work is priced by the problem, not the page count. A site that is slow because the home page carries a dozen full-size photos from a phone camera can be fixed in a short session. A site built with a multipurpose theme, a page builder, several sliders, a chat widget and tracking scripts from three agencies is a different job, because each layer has to be tested as it is removed so nothing breaks. Custom-coded sites with poor structure can take longer still, depending on who wrote them.

There are also costs that are not labour. Better hosting may cost more per year than the cheapest shared plan, though often not by much. A CDN can be free at small scale or paid as traffic grows. Some fixes require paid versions of plugins or a replacement theme. Then there is the cost of not fixing: visitors who give up before the page appears, ads paying for clicks that never see your offer, and staff time answering why the site does not open. Weigh the work against those losses rather than against zero.

Hypothetically, say an Islamabad business pays for a fixed number of ad clicks every day and a share of those visitors leave before the page loads. Every percentage point recovered is ad money that starts working without raising the budget. That is the logic for speed work on any site that carries ads or relies on search.
