Should I make one company video or lots of short videos?

The classic company video, with drone shots, music and a voice-over about values, often ends up watched by the people who made it and few others. It sits on the homepage, gets shared once on launch day, and dates quickly as staff, premises and prices change. Platforms reward regular posting, and one film cannot be posted every week. It is also a large single bet: if the tone is wrong, there is nothing else to fall back on.

Short videos work differently. Each one answers a single thing customers wonder about: how a procedure works at a clinic in F-11, what a two-bedroom apartment in Gulberg Greens actually looks like, how the owner of a Saddar bakery chooses ingredients. They can be posted across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts, run as ads, sent on WhatsApp in reply to enquiries, and replaced when they go out of date without redoing everything.

There are still good reasons for a longer piece. Schools, hospitals, manufacturers and consultancies bidding for contracts often need a two- or three-minute overview that is serious and complete. The efficient answer is usually to plan both from the same shoot: film the interviews and footage for the long version, then cut a series of short clips from them. We plan shoots that way by default, so the long video is not the only thing you get from the day.
