How do I move customers from Instagram DMs to WhatsApp without losing them?

Many Pakistani businesses prefer to close sales on WhatsApp: it is where they manage orders, share catalogues, receive JazzCash or Easypaisa screenshots and send location pins. The mistake is moving customers too early or too abruptly. Someone who asks "is this available in black?" and receives only "WhatsApp 03xx-xxxxxxx" has to copy a number, open another app, save the contact and repeat their question. A share of them will not bother, and they were your warmest leads.

The better pattern is to answer first and then invite. Reply to the actual question in the DM — yes, it is available in black, in these sizes — and then offer WhatsApp as a convenience: "I can send you more photos and the full catalogue on WhatsApp, tap here." Use a click-to-chat link with a prefilled message that tells you where the customer came from and what they asked about, so they do not need to type anything and you see the context immediately. Instagram and Facebook profiles can also show a WhatsApp button directly.

Then make sure the WhatsApp side is ready. The number should be answered promptly in working hours, preferably on WhatsApp Business with labels for new enquiries, pending payment and delivered orders. Whoever answers should be able to see what was promised in the DM. If the customer prefers to stay on Instagram, let them; forcing the switch costs sales.
