Is my YouTube channel niche too broad?

YouTube recommends videos to people who watched similar videos. When a channel posts a recipe one week, a phone review the next and a travel vlog after that, each video reaches a different group, and none of those groups has reason to watch the next upload. In Studio, this shows up as videos with very different traffic sources and audiences, low views from subscribers, and new uploads that start from nothing each time rather than getting an early push from returning viewers.

A useful test is the one-sentence description. "Home cooking for working women in Pakistan" is a niche, and it can include recipes, kitchen hacks, meal planning and grocery hauls, because the viewer is the same. "Everything I find interesting" is not. Notice that the first example is defined by the audience, not by a single topic. Very narrow topic niches can run out of ideas; a clear audience gives you many topics that still belong together.

If your channel is broad, you do not have to delete anything. Look at your analytics and find which kind of video brought the most subscribers and the most returning viewers, then make that the centre of the channel for the next few months. A property channel that started with general Pakistan news might find its walkthroughs of societies around Islamabad perform best and focus there. Keep occasional off-topic videos if you enjoy them, but label them clearly or put them in their own playlist so the channel page stays easy to understand.
