LinkedIn in Pakistan: how it works and who it works for
LinkedIn is how Pakistanis get paid in dollars. Software houses in I-9, freelancers working from Bahria and consultants in Blue Area find overseas clients here, and HR managers read your profile before they call you. Nobody sells biryani on LinkedIn. But if your customer is a company or a recruiter, this is the only room they sit in.
Mechanics
How does LinkedIn decide who sees your posts?
LinkedIn shows a post to a slice of your network first, then expands it based on comments longer than one word and how long people stay on the post. Dwell time is the lever, which is why document carousels and long text posts beat everything else. Outbound links get held back, so put the link in the first comment. Posts keep circulating for two or three days, far longer than any other platform, and thoughtful comments you leave on other people's posts reach as many people as your own posts do.
| Format | Ratio | Length | Caption limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text post | None — text only | 150–300 words, broken into one-line paragraphs | 3,000 characters; about 140 show before 'see more', so the first two lines are everything |
| Document carousel (PDF) | 4:5 | 8–12 pages; one idea per page in large type | 3,000-character post above the document — 60 words is plenty |
| Native video | 9:16 or 1:1 | Under 2 minutes for the feed; uploads allowed up to 10 minutes | 3,000 characters, plus burnt-in subtitles because LinkedIn autoplays on mute |
| Single image post | 4:5 | Static — a screenshot, chart or photo of real work | 3,000 characters; the image is the hook, the text is the argument |
| Article | 1.91:1 header image | 800–1,500 words | Headline up to around 100 characters — write it like a search query |

Best times to post (PKT)
- 8–10am Monday to Thursday — Pakistani office hours begin and the feed gets its first proper check
- 12–1:30pm — the lunch scroll; the best window for a document carousel someone will actually read through
- 5–7pm — this is morning in the UK and the start of the day in Dubai and Riyadh, so overseas clients see it too
- Tuesday and Wednesday are the strongest days of the week; Friday afternoon and Sunday are effectively dead
- Skip anything after 9pm PKT — LinkedIn is not a night-time app in Pakistan, unlike every other platform here
Earning from LinkedIn in Pakistan
LinkedIn pays nobody, anywhere. There is no creator fund, no ad share, no gifts, and nothing is coming. Every rupee from LinkedIn is indirect — a client, a job offer, a retainer, an invitation to quote. That said it carries the highest value per follower of any platform for Pakistanis: one consulting client from LinkedIn paying USD 1,500 a month is worth more than a million TikTok views. Measure it in enquiries and calls booked, and set the expectation early that it takes three to six months of steady posting before anything lands.
What we do
What we do on LinkedIn for a client every month
- 01Rewrite your headline, About section and banner so a recruiter or a foreign client understands what you do in five seconds
- 02Write and publish 8–12 posts a month in your own voice, drawn from one 20-minute call a month where you just talk
- 03Build 2 document carousels a month — still the format with the most reach on this platform
- 04Comment properly on 20–30 relevant posts a month from your account, because that reach often beats your own posts
- 05Turn a long video you already recorded into a native LinkedIn cut under 2 minutes with burnt-in subtitles
- 06Keep the company page posting so the profile does not look abandoned when a prospect checks it after a call
- 07Report on profile views, search appearances and connection requests from decision-makers — not on likes
