What is Product schema?
Product schema is structured data, using the Product type from schema.org, that describes an item for sale in a way machines can read: its name, image, description, brand, SKU, price and currency, availability, condition and, where genuine, ratings and reviews. Google uses it to show product rich results with price and stock, and to understand product pages for Shopping-style features where they are available. The marked-up price and availability must match what a visitor sees on the page; mismatches can lead Google to ignore the markup. Most e-commerce platforms generate basic product schema, but often incompletely.
What does Product schema mean for a business in Pakistan?
Pakistani store themes often output product schema with the currency missing, set to USD by default, or with a price that does not update during sales. Checking that PKR and the current sale price come through correctly matters most in Ramadan, Eid and 11.11 seasons, when prices change daily and buyers compare in the results.
A worked example
An Islamabad electronics store's product schema shows each price in USD with the sale price ignored. Fixing the theme so every product outputs priceCurrency PKR, the current price, availability InStock or OutOfStock and the brand name makes the markup valid in the Rich Results Test and keeps it in step with the page during a sale.
