What is Frame rate?
Frame rate is how many still images make up each second of video, written as fps. Twenty-four gives the slightly soft, filmic motion of cinema; 25 and 30 are the standard broadcast and online rates; 50 and 60 look sharper and are what you shoot when you want smooth slow motion later, since you can halve the speed of 60fps and still have 30 usable frames. Pick one rate for a project and stay on it, because mixing rates in one timeline produces stuttering motion that viewers feel even when they cannot name what is wrong.
What does Frame rate mean for a business in Pakistan?
Pakistan's mains supply runs at 50 Hz, so tube lights and cheap LED panels flicker fifty times a second. Filming at 25 or 50fps stays in step with that and stays clean; filming at 30 or 60fps under the same lights often produces dark bands rolling through the frame. If your indoor footage has mysterious flicker, the shutter and frame rate are the first place to look, not the camera.
A worked example
A shop interview filmed at 30fps under tube lights shows a slow band drifting up the frame. Refilming the identical setup at 25fps with a 1/50 shutter removes it completely. For a product clip that needs slow motion, shoot 50fps and play it back at 50% speed, which gives clean 25fps playback with no dropped frames.
