What is Drip sequence?
A drip sequence is a series of automated emails (or messages) sent on a schedule after someone takes an action — signing up, downloading a guide, abandoning a cart, buying for the first time. Each step is written in advance and timed: a welcome on day zero, a useful tip on day two, a case or answer to a common doubt on day five, an offer on day eight. The sequence runs on its own for every new subscriber, so each person gets the full story in order no matter when they joined. Good sequences stop or branch when the person buys or replies, so nobody receives a 'still thinking about it?' email after paying.
What does Drip sequence mean for a business in Pakistan?
Email is less central in Pakistan than WhatsApp, but it works well for B2B buyers, overseas Pakistanis, students applying abroad and anyone signing up through a website. Many local sequences mix channels: an email with details, then a WhatsApp template reminder for those who opted in.
A worked example
Suppose an Islamabad study-abroad consultancy sends new sign-ups five emails over two weeks: a welcome with the document checklist, a guide to university shortlisting, a visa timeline, an answer to 'is IELTS required?', and an invitation to book a free call. Anyone who books a call is removed from the sequence.
