Social media management for news and commentary channels in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Islamabad is where the news physically happens, so a commentary channel here sits 10 minutes from the Supreme Court, Parliament and the press club. The format is one person, one camera, 10 minutes, uploaded the same evening. Speed beats production: a video published 3 hours late loses most of the views it would have had.

What makes social media hard for news and commentary channels?

These are the things we hear most from news and commentary channels in the twin cities. If two or three of them sound like your week, everything below is aimed straight at them.

  • 01A story breaks at 9pm and you have four hours to record, edit and upload before three bigger channels have already covered it.
  • 02One limited-ads flag on a political video wipes out a month of revenue, and the appeal goes nowhere you can follow up.
  • 03Thumbnails have to shout to compete, and the louder they get the faster the serious audience you actually want stops trusting you.
  • 04You cannot take a holiday. Two weeks off and the algorithm hands your audience to whoever kept uploading through Eid.
  • 05Half the comments are party workers from both sides, and moderating them honestly is a full-time job on its own.

What should a news & commentary channel business post?

4 themes you can return to forever, so you are never staring at the camera wondering what to say. We build your month out of these.

01

Same-day explainers

Take the one story everyone is arguing about and give the ten minutes of background nobody on television had time for. Record it the same evening, plain background, no music, no drama.

  • What today's court order actually says, read paragraph by paragraph
  • The new petrol price explained in the rupees per litre it moves for a Suzuki owner
  • Why this IMF condition changes your electricity bill next month

02

The document itself

Court orders, budget papers and gazette notifications are public, and almost nobody reads them out on camera. Putting the actual page on screen is your credibility, and it costs nothing to make.

  • The budget page that changes tax on your salary slab, shown on screen
  • A judgment's operative paragraph read out and translated into plain Urdu
  • An FBR notification and what it means for a trader in Raja Bazaar

03

Interviews from the corridor

You are in Islamabad and a channel in Karachi is not. A five-minute answer from an MNA outside Parliament or a lawyer on the court steps is the thing nobody else can get today.

  • A senator answering one direct question outside the Parliament gate
  • A lawyer explaining the day's hearing on the Supreme Court steps
  • A protest on Constitution Avenue, filmed and explained in three minutes

04

The Sunday round-up

One video a week that gathers everything and tells a busy viewer what actually mattered. It becomes a habit people set a reminder for, and it never depends on breaking news arriving.

  • Five things that happened this week and the one that will still matter next year
  • What the talk shows got wrong this week, with the clips
  • Your own corrections: what you said last week that turned out to be wrong

What is a customer worth, and what should you spend?

AdSense on Pakistani political content pays roughly PKR 100 to 400 for every thousand views, so a million views a month is PKR 100,000 to 400,000 — and one limited-ads flag can halve it overnight. The steadier money is direct sponsorship and paid appearances.

Who is already doing this well in Pakistan?

Accounts worth studying before you post anything. We are not affiliated with any of them — they are here because the approach is worth copying.

YouTube · around half a million subscribers

Matiullah Jan (MJtv)

He reports from the Supreme Court he actually sits in. Owning one building beats commenting on everything from behind a desk.

YouTube · one of Pakistan's most-watched political commentary channels

Syed Muzammil Official

One policy or one history topic per video, with a title that states the claim outright. The title is doing most of the work.

YouTube · several million subscribers

Dawn News

They cut every bulletin into single-story uploads with the headline burned on screen. One story, one video — which is why their old clips still get found.

Where are news and commentary channels concentrated in the twin cities?

We work across all of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but these are the areas where this trade clusters — useful if you are working out where your customers come from.

Islamabad

  • Blue Area

Islamabad's central business district: a long strip of office towers along Jinnah Avenue, sitting between the F and G sectors. Banks, telecom head offices, law chambers, travel agents and consultancies are stacked floor on floor, with ground-floor cafés feeding the lunch rush. Almost nobody lives here, and by nine at night it is empty.

  • F-6

One of the oldest and richest sectors, lived in by senior civil servants, politicians and old Islamabad families. Two very different markets serve it: Super Market in the Markaz for books, banks, tailors and pharmacies, and Kohsar Market in F-6/3, where the city's expensive cafés and bakeries have clustered for years.

  • F-7

F-7 Markaz — everybody calls it Jinnah Super — is the market every person in Islamabad has shopped in at least once. Saeed Book Bank, bridal boutiques, salons, phone shops and a thick ring of restaurants. Behind it the sector is quiet, leafy and costly, full of embassy staff and business families.

  • F-8

F-8 is where Islamabad goes for its legal work. The district courts sit in F-8 Markaz, so the plazas around them are wall to wall with lawyers' chambers, stamp vendors and typists. Ayub Market handles the daily shopping, and the residents are largely government officers and settled professional families.

  • I-8

I-8 is the best-planned of the I sectors and the one with real office money in it. The Markaz holds banks, private hospitals, coaching academies and corporate branch offices, and the residential blocks are settled professional families. Sitting beside Faizabad and the Expressway, it pulls customers in from Rawalpindi too.

Rawalpindi

  • Media Town

Media Town was laid out for journalists and broadcast staff and has kept its calm, wide-street character. It works as a professional-services pocket now: paediatricians, physiotherapists, O Level tutors and small consultancies operating from ground floors. Clients come from Media Town and the societies beside it, not from across the city.

These are the phrases people in this trade actually type. If your page does not answer them, someone else's does.

  • news channel YouTube kaise banayein
  • political commentary channel Islamabad
  • video editor for news channel Rawalpindi
  • YouTube channel demonetize ho gaya kya karein
  • current affairs thumbnail designer Pakistan

Which services move the numbers for news and commentary channels?

News & commentary channels questions we get every week

How much does social media management cost for news and commentary channels in Islamabad?

Packages run from PKR 15,000 to PKR 70,000 a month, and most news and commentary channels start on Pro at PKR 70,000+. Daily uploads, same-night edits and constant comment moderation across YouTube and Facebook. Only Pro covers near-unlimited editing plus a call every two weeks, which is what a live news cycle actually demands. A one-time audit of your existing page is PKR 5,000, credited if you go monthly.

Which platform should news and commentary channels focus on first?

YouTube. A ten-minute political explainer is watched to the end here, and this is the only platform that pays anything for it. We would run it at 5 to 6 videos a week, 8 to 15 minutes, plus daily shorts and add nothing else until that is steady.

What would you actually post for a news & commentary channel business?

same-day explainers, the document itself, interviews from the corridor — those three alone fill a month. Take the one story everyone is arguing about and give the ten minutes of background nobody on television had time for. Record it the same evening, plain background, no music, no drama.

Do you work with news and commentary channels in Rawalpindi as well as Islamabad?

Yes, we treat the twin cities as one service area. We see a lot of news and commentary channels around Blue Area, F-6, F-7, F-8. Most of the work runs over WhatsApp and Drive, and we come to you for the first meeting or a shoot.

How long before a news & commentary channel account starts bringing in customers?

You will see the output in week one and the numbers in month one. For a local trade like this, enquiries usually start moving in the second or third month, once there is enough posted for someone to trust that you are still open and still good.
