Social media management for music artists in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

There is no radio economy left in Pakistan and streaming pays an artist here roughly PKR 90 to 250 per thousand plays. The money is live shows. Social media's real job is to convince a promoter in Islamabad that you can fill a room. One song released properly beats six songs dumped.

What makes social media hard for music artists?

These are the things we hear most from music artists in the twin cities. If two or three of them sound like your week, everything below is aimed straight at them.

  • 01You spend PKR 150,000 on a music video and it does 20,000 views, because nobody cut it into fifteen-second pieces before release day.
  • 02A song only travels here once it becomes a TikTok sound, and you have no say in which eight seconds people choose.
  • 03Live gigs in Islamabad are a handful of venues and university events, and promoters book by follower count, not by how good the track is.
  • 04Studio time runs PKR 5,000 to 15,000 an hour with mixing charged separately, so an unreleased song is money already gone.
  • 05Coke Studio and the big brand seasons take the country's entire attention for weeks, and independent releases in that window disappear.

What should a music artist business post?

4 themes you can return to forever, so you are never staring at the camera wondering what to say. We build your month out of these.

01

The song before the song

Post the making of it — the phone voice note the melody started as, the take you scrapped, the lyric you changed at 3am. By release day people already know the chorus.

  • The original voice note of the hook, next to the finished chorus
  • Twenty seconds of the vocal take you kept and the one you threw away
  • Reading out the lyrics and explaining the one line everyone will ask about

02

Live, in one take

One camera, a guitar or a harmonium, no autotune. This is the content that convinces a promoter you can actually perform, and it is the cheapest thing you will ever film.

  • Your own song stripped down, one take, on an F-11 rooftop at night
  • A qawwali or ghazal everyone knows, sung in your own arrangement
  • The new song performed live on release day, before anyone hears the master

03

Covers people are already searching

Covers get found because the demand already exists. Pick what Pakistanis are searching this month and put your name and face on that search result while it is hot.

  • A Coke Studio song from the current season, covered within a week of release
  • An old Vital Signs or Nazia Hassan track rearranged
  • The Punjabi wedding track playing at every shaadi this season, sung slow

04

Clip-first releases

Cut the release into pieces built for a Reel: the eight seconds people will lip-sync, the drop, the line that works as a caption. Hand creators the sound before you hand them the song.

  • The eight-second hook posted three days before the full release
  • A behind-the-scenes video-shoot clip used as the Reel audio
  • A vertical duet-ready version with only your vocal on screen

Which platforms are worth it for music artists?

Ranked for this trade specifically, with how often we would post on each.

Platform priority for music artists
PlatformPriorityHow oftenWhy it works for this trade
Instagram#15 Reels a week, daily stories through release weekReels audio is how a song actually spreads in Pakistan now, and promoters and label people check your Instagram before replying.
TikTok#25 to 7 clips a week using your own soundOne sound catching on TikTok will do more for a Pakistani release than any playlist placement you can chase.
YouTube#31 video a month plus weekly ShortsThe official video and the live one-takes live here, and this is where the diaspora finds you and where the song earns.
Facebook#42 posts a week plus every gig announcementWedding-season bookings and event organisers in Rawalpindi still come through Facebook pages and event groups.

What is a customer worth, and what should you spend?

A single song costs PKR 60,000 to 250,000 to record, mix and shoot. A wedding or corporate gig in Islamabad pays PKR 80,000 to 500,000, and that is where the income really is. Streaming is promotion, not revenue, until you are touring.

Who is already doing this well in Pakistan?

Accounts worth studying before you post anything. We are not affiliated with any of them — they are here because the approach is worth copying.

YouTube · millions of monthly listeners on Spotify

Abdul Hannan

He released 'Bikhra' independently with almost no budget. One song people replayed for a year did more than a full album would have.

YouTube · millions of subscribers

Young Stunners

Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus built the audience on freestyles and loose tracks for years first. The listeners came before the releases did.

YouTube · one of Pakistan's largest music channels

Coke Studio Pakistan

One song at a time, on a fixed day, with a clip campaign around each. An independent artist can copy the calendar even without the budget.

YouTube · a long-running Pakistani music platform

Nescafé Basement

Live band performances filmed in one room and released as a season. A fixed format beats one-off uploads every time.

Where are music artists concentrated in the twin cities?

We work across all of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but these are the areas where this trade clusters — useful if you are working out where your customers come from.

Islamabad

  • F-10

A settled upper-middle-class sector on the western side, popular with doctors, serving officers and retired families. F-10 Markaz carries clinics, dental surgeries, labs, bakeries and bank branches rather than nightlife, and the sub-sector strips fill up after school hours with tuition centres and salons. Fatima Jinnah Park is on its doorstep.

  • F-11

F-11 is apartment Islamabad. Blocks of flats in F-11/1 and F-11/3 keep it younger and denser than the sectors either side, and F-11 Markaz has grown into one of the busiest eating and shopping centres on that half of the city. Property offices, gyms and delivery-heavy kitchens do well here.

  • E-11

E-11 grew out of separate cooperative societies, which is why its streets do not line up like the rest of Islamabad. It is the city's flat belt: young couples, students and bachelors renting apartments, with a mini market in every sub-sector and a crowded Markaz of eateries, hostels and property offices.

  • G-11

G-11 Markaz is one of the liveliest markets on the western side — cheap food, bakeries, mobile shops, banks, and enough student and hostel traffic to keep it open late. The sub-sectors mix owner-occupied houses with rented portions, so customers run from retired officers to people in their first job.

  • I-8

I-8 is the best-planned of the I sectors and the one with real office money in it. The Markaz holds banks, private hospitals, coaching academies and corporate branch offices, and the residential blocks are settled professional families. Sitting beside Faizabad and the Expressway, it pulls customers in from Rawalpindi too.

Rawalpindi

  • Bahria Town Phase 1–6

The first six phases of Bahria Town Rawalpindi are the settled ones — trees grown in, families moved in years ago. Civic Centre in Phase 4 is the commercial anchor, with a cinema, restaurants and clinics. Customers here check your Instagram before they visit, and they will pay for presentation.

Which services move the numbers for music artists?

Music artists questions we get every week

How much does social media management cost for music artists in Islamabad?

Packages run from PKR 15,000 to PKR 70,000 a month, and most music artists start on Growth at PKR 35,000. You release one song a month but need clips every week. Growth gives twelve short edits, four long ones, thumbnails and page SEO — enough to run Instagram and TikTok properly around a release. A one-time audit of your existing page is PKR 5,000, credited if you go monthly.

Which platform should music artists focus on first?

Instagram. Reels audio is how a song actually spreads in Pakistan now, and promoters and label people check your Instagram before replying. We would run it at 5 reels a week, daily stories through release week and add nothing else until that is steady.

What would you actually post for a music artist business?

the song before the song, live, in one take, covers people are already searching — those three alone fill a month. Post the making of it — the phone voice note the melody started as, the take you scrapped, the lyric you changed at 3am. By release day people already know the chorus.

Do you work with music artists in Rawalpindi as well as Islamabad?

Yes, we treat the twin cities as one service area. We see a lot of music artists around F-10, F-11, E-11, G-11. Most of the work runs over WhatsApp and Drive, and we come to you for the first meeting or a shoot.

How long before a music artist account starts bringing in customers?

You will see the output in week one and the numbers in month one. For a local trade like this, enquiries usually start moving in the second or third month, once there is enough posted for someone to trust that you are still open and still good.
