Social media management for cooking channels in Islamabad & Rawalpindi

A cooking channel from a G-13 kitchen costs almost nothing to start: a PKR 1,500 phone stand above the stove and the food you were cooking anyway. Recipes are among the most searched things on YouTube in Pakistan, and the traffic never dies — a good chicken karahi video still earns three years later.

What makes social media hard for cooking channels?

These are the things we hear most from cooking channels in the twin cities. If two or three of them sound like your week, everything below is aimed straight at them.

  • 01Your kitchen has one window, so the video goes yellow after asr and you can only film inside a two-hour light window.
  • 02Recipe videos are reuploaded on Facebook pages within a day — your voice, somebody else's logo, and no way to get it down quickly.
  • 03Ingredient prices move every month, so the 'PKR 500 dinner' video is already wrong by the time it starts ranking.
  • 04Filming with one hand while cooking with the other means the food burns or the shot is missed, and you cook the same dish four times.
  • 05The doorbell, the pressure cooker whistle and family walking through frame ruin takes you cannot afford to shoot again.

What should a cooking channel business post?

4 themes you can return to forever, so you are never staring at the camera wondering what to say. We build your month out of these.

01

One dish, done properly

The spine of the channel: a single recipe, exact quantities, no shortcuts, filmed top-down. Say the measurements out loud in Urdu and put them on screen in English so both audiences can follow.

  • Chicken karahi the dhaba way, with the exact tomato and oil quantity shown
  • Nihari overnight: what is actually happening in the pot each hour
  • Biryani for eight people, rice-to-water ratio measured in a cup on camera

02

Budget cooking with the price on screen

Grocery prices are the national conversation. Build the meal against a rupee number and show the bill at the end. This is the pillar that gets forwarded into WhatsApp groups without you asking.

  • Dinner for five under PKR 700, with the receipt on screen
  • One kilo of chicken stretched across three different meals
  • What PKR 3,000 of sabzi from Sunday Bazaar actually cooks in a week

03

Ramadan and Eid season

For six weeks a year the searches multiply. Sehri that keeps you full, iftar items you can fry ahead, and Eid dishes posted a week before people need them rather than on the morning itself.

  • Five pakora batters tested side by side, one clear winner
  • Sehri that keeps you full till asr, three options compared
  • Make-ahead iftar: fry once on Saturday, eat all week

04

Kitchen fixes and myths

Short searchable answers to the problems that stop people cooking: dough that will not rise, meat that stays tough, oil that catches fire, and the desi advice that is simply wrong.

  • Why your roti goes hard within an hour, and the one fix
  • Tenderising beef without papaya, three methods tested
  • How to save a salan you have already over-salted

Every video is the same format, same music, same overhead angle. Deliberately repetitive, so a viewer knows exactly what they are getting before they click.

Kitchen with Amna

She speaks Urdu to a home cook rather than to a camera, and repeats every quantity twice. In recipes, clarity beats cinematography every time.

Mubashir Saddique cooks outdoors and lets the setting carry the video. Where you cook can be as interesting as what you cook.

Where are cooking channels concentrated in the twin cities?

We work across all of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but these are the areas where this trade clusters — useful if you are working out where your customers come from.

Islamabad

  • G-11

G-11 Markaz is one of the liveliest markets on the western side — cheap food, bakeries, mobile shops, banks, and enough student and hostel traffic to keep it open late. The sub-sectors mix owner-occupied houses with rented portions, so customers run from retired officers to people in their first job.

  • G-13

G-13 was laid out for federal government employees and is now fully lived in — four sub-sectors of houses, a growing Markaz, and families who bought early and stayed. Clinics, schools, bakeries and property offices dominate. NUST and the motorway are both close, so student rentals are common here.

  • I-10

I-10 is where a lot of the twin cities' everyday trade happens. The Markaz is packed with keenly priced clothes, shoes, phone shops and furniture, and the sub-sectors hold cheap rentals for students and workers. Its edge on IJP Road makes it as much a Rawalpindi market as an Islamabad one.

  • PWD Housing Society

PWD sits just off the Islamabad Expressway and is one of the cheapest addresses that still carries an Islamabad postcode. Its double road is lined with banks, bakeries, clinics, phone shops and tuition centres, serving renting young families, students and people who commute into both cities every morning.

Rawalpindi

  • Ghauri Town

Ghauri Town runs to seven phases off the Expressway and is the twin cities' student and young-renter belt. Rooms are cheap, mess kitchens feed hundreds, and half the shops are aimed at people who will move out in two years. High turnover means constant new customers and almost no loyalty.

  • Satellite Town

Satellite Town was Rawalpindi's first planned suburb, laid out in lettered blocks in the 1960s, and it has aged into a doctors' quarter. Consultant clinics, dental surgeries and small labs work out of converted houses around Holy Family Hospital. Patients are local and they choose on reputation, not advertising.

These are the phrases people in this trade actually type. If your page does not answer them, someone else's does.

  • cooking channel kaise shuru karein
  • recipe video editing Islamabad
  • chicken karahi banane ka tarika
  • cooking YouTube channel monetization Pakistan
  • food videography Rawalpindi
  • sasta khana recipe Pakistan
  • YouTube thumbnail for cooking videos

Which services move the numbers for cooking channels?

Cooking channels questions we get every week

How much does social media management cost for cooking channels in Islamabad?

Packages run from PKR 15,000 to PKR 70,000 a month, and most cooking channels start on Growth at PKR 35,000. Recipe channels need two finished videos a week plus clips, and each one needs a thumbnail and a title people actually search. Growth covers four long recipes, twelve short cuts and the SEO that keeps them findable for years. A one-time audit of your existing page is PKR 5,000, credited if you go monthly.

Which platform should cooking channels focus on first?

YouTube. Recipe searches are typed into YouTube and never stop, so one well-titled karahi video can carry the channel for years while you sleep. We would run it at 2 full recipes a week plus 3 shorts and add nothing else until that is steady.

What would you actually post for a cooking channel business?

one dish, done properly, budget cooking with the price on screen, ramadan and eid season — those three alone fill a month. The spine of the channel: a single recipe, exact quantities, no shortcuts, filmed top-down. Say the measurements out loud in Urdu and put them on screen in English so both audiences can follow.

Do you work with cooking channels in Rawalpindi as well as Islamabad?

Yes, we treat the twin cities as one service area. We see a lot of cooking channels around G-11, G-13, I-10, PWD Housing Society. Most of the work runs over WhatsApp and Drive, and we come to you for the first meeting or a shoot.

How long before a cooking channel account starts bringing in customers?

You will see the output in week one and the numbers in month one. For a local trade like this, enquiries usually start moving in the second or third month, once there is enough posted for someone to trust that you are still open and still good.
