Facebook marketing
We give G-6 shopkeepers a Facebook page that does something useful: it shows what is in stock, what it costs and when the shop is open, in Urdu and English, with photos taken on the counter. Aabpara hardware and electronics dealers, Melody Market pharmacies and the second-hand book sellers all suit this plain, practical approach.
On the Starter package, PKR 15,000 per month. Ad spend, if you run ads, is separate.
Why it fits
Aabpara is the oldest working market in Islamabad, and its customers are practical: government employees from the old quarters, students hunting cheap books, households needing a fan, a pipe fitting or a phone charger today. Many of them use Facebook rather than Instagram and search Marketplace or local groups before making the trip. Most Aabpara shops have no page, or one with a single post from years ago. A shop that posts stock and prices regularly gets the call before the customer leaves home.

A book stall album caption
'New this week at our Aabpara stall: used CSS prep books, O-level past papers and Urdu novels. Condition noted under each photo. Message the title to reserve it for two days.'
Yes, if they want customers to check stock before travelling. G-6's buyers are practical and price-aware, and many search Facebook Marketplace and groups first. A page showing real stock, prices and hours turns those searches into calls. It need not be glamorous; clear photos and honest prices work best in Aabpara.
Take three photos a day on the counter and send them on WhatsApp; we write the captions, add prices and post. Aabpara and Melody shopkeepers are busy from morning to night, so the routine has to fit between customers. A short weekly call to plan offers is usually enough.
Pitfalls
The area
The oldest sector in the city and still the most working-class. Aabpara Market sells everything from hardware to second-hand books, Melody Food Park pulls the evening crowd, and old government quarters keep the population mixed. It is loud, cheap and busy in a way the F sectors never are.

These are the questions we get on WhatsApp every week, answered the way we would answer them there.
WhatsApp usMostly, yes, or a mix of Urdu and English. G-6 customers range from government clerks to students, and Urdu captions read faster for many of them. Product names and model numbers stay in English, because that is how people search.
It can, through posts, albums and Marketplace listings with clear photos and condition notes. Book buyers in Islamabad search for specific titles, so we write titles and authors in full. Reservations go through WhatsApp, and buyers collect from the Aabpara stall or pay for delivery.
