How much does a social media manager earn in Pakistan?

The title covers three very different jobs. At the bottom it means scheduling: someone who posts what they are given, replies to comments and builds a simple report. In the middle it means making: writing captions, briefing or cutting video, running the calendar, handling a small ad budget. At the top it means owning a number — leads, sales, subscribers — and deciding what gets made to move it. Employers in Islamabad routinely advertise the third job at the first salary, which is why those posts sit open for months.

If you are hiring, price the whole seat and not the salary. A PKR 50,000 hire needs a laptop that can edit video, a decent internet connection, a UPS or battery setup so load-shedding does not cost you a day, and two or three months before the output is any good. Most importantly, an entry-level manager cannot usually edit video or design thumbnails to a standard anyone will click, so you end up paying freelancers on top and the real monthly figure lands closer to PKR 90,000. That is the comparison to run against an agency retainer, not the salary line by itself.

If you are the one earning, the fastest raise in this field is proof rather than a certificate. A portfolio showing three accounts you grew, with before-and-after screenshots from the analytics and the dates visible, is worth more than any course. Learning to actually edit — Premiere or CapCut, captions, pacing — roughly doubles what you can ask for in the twin cities, because it removes the freelancer your employer was paying separately. And the remote market is right there: the same skills billed to an overseas client pay several times the local band, which is exactly why Islamabad employers keep losing their second-year staff.
